At TAAMAR Stitches, we design all styles of fashionable wear to suit your beautify body shape. The company has a huge talent resource in garment and textile production as well as merchandizing. We sew different style and design according to our clients’ need.

Aim of the Training Program:

The training program is aimed at people who are interested in:

  1. Making a career in the garment industry.
  2. Sewing as a hobby.
  3. Polishing up their sewing skills.

It will provide a balanced practical and theoretical introduction to the basic elements of design for practical application in garment making.

Ready to Wear

It aims to assess the ability to use a range of materials, based on personal approach in order to understand the stages in designing and constructing fashion garments.

Expectation

At the end of the course, trainees are expected to be able to draft patterns and make various items of clothing, have knowledge in entrepreneurship and basic business and financial management. Be able to work with very little or no supervision. Certificates will be awarded at the end of the course.

Assessment

The outcome of the program will be assessed using evidence from practical activities which take the following forms:

  • Practical exercises, using different fabrics designed to assess the skills of the trainee in using the basic elements of design in their work.
  • A workbook that will demonstrate knowledge in support of the practical exercises which may include patterns, samples, sketches, notes, ideas, etc.

At the end of each topic, your tutor in discussion with you will complete a record sheet of your progress as you achieve each of the outcomes. You may request to see this. There will be seminars on various topics relevant to the course.

(Introduction to Fashion Design and Patter Drafting)

 

Minimum Qualification: SSCE, WASCE or its equivalent

Duration Full Course: 3 Months

Time:   9am to 2pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

1pm to 6pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)

Full Time Classes

Level 1

This course will introduce you to the basic techniques of women’s wear patter drafting and freehand cutting. You will be working using a personalized size (Student’s size) for both free hand and pattern drafting. You will investigate how to make a range of patterns (3) for Bubu, Kaftan and align as well as a 3 neckline and sleeve variations.

Student’s Responsibility

As a student, your responsibilities include timely and regular attendance, to follow syllabus guidelines and present your work as required for assessment. You also owe it to yourself to practice what you are taught, do some research and be creative.

  4. ¾ H Pencil
  5. Eraser
  6. Sharperner
  7. Ruler
  8. 10 Sheets of brown paper or 20 sheets of Newspaper
  9. Steel Pins
  10. Selo tape

Level 2

In this course, our students will be taught 4 different patterns and free hand for skirts and blouses as well as 3 more neck and sleeve variations.

Level 3

In this course, our students will be taught 4 different patterns and free hand for gowns including three neck lines and sleeve.

Level 4

This course will cover Avant guard/bridal.

Part-Time: (Saturdays and Sundays)

Advanced (Pattern drafting and Computer Aided Design)

Our advanced (Patter Drafting and CAD) will teach our students the use of Computers and patterns for making garments for wholesale and personal use.

Minimum Qualification: SSCE, WASCE or its equivalent

Duration Full Course: 3 Months

Time:   11am to 3pm (Tuesdays & Thursdays)
